iOS Update Fixes Connectivity Bugs On The iPhone 4S

Whilst the latest iPhone 5 is regarded as the one of the most impressive devices on the market, a number of its predecessors are still enormously popular as well.

One of the most widely used phones in the world is the iPhone 4S and it continues to gain more users despite the launch of a newer flagship device. This is mainly because retailers and network operators have reduced iPhone 4S prices so they can offer a more affordable alternative to people when the iPhone 5 was launched with an expensive price tag.

The technology used by iPhone 4s is still very impressive. It has very powerful features like an 8 megapixel camera with HD video capture capacity, a 3.5 inch display (retina) and a dual-core processor. The phone is installed with Apple’s own OS known as iOS that allows users to download applications and use the phone with integration with other Apple software such as iCloud and iTunes. These are some of the main reasons for the phone’s ongoing popularity. Visit our website to learn more about the iPhone 4S and compare the cheapest iPhone 4S offers.

An iOS update was recently released for iPhone 4S known as iOS 6.1. As was expected, many users decided to download it. However, there were several reports regarding the update that pointed out issues with the network connection. Vodafone even advised customers not to download the updated OS. For those that have experienced issues with the updated software, the good news is that Apple has already released another OS update, iOS 6.1.1 which includes a fix on the cellular network connection issues. Early feedback suggests that iPhone 4S users are now reporting that cellular performance issues have been remedies by the update.

The iPhone 5 still is selling well and while the iPhone 4S is still popular there are rumours claiming that Apple is set to release another model to the range of iconic smartphones later in 2013. We will update you of any information about this report as soon as new evidence and developments are released.

iOS 6.1.1 Addresses iPhone 4S Problems Caused By The Release Of Version 6.1

The recent software update rolled out by Apple, iOS 6.1, has brought with it some issues that have effected certain handsets. In a record amount of time another update has been rolled out that is expected to correct these issues. The device that has been experiencing problems is the iPhone 4S and users of this phone are now able to download version 6.1.1 of the operating system.

Network providers including Vodafone in the UK advised users of the iPhone 4S not to update to version 6.1 by sending out text messages. The reason that was given was because of 3G connectivity issues and general reliability problems. These issues have been addressed by the 6.1.1 update which has arrived just 15 days after the original update was rolled out. The official statement that came with this latest update was that it “fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S”. For more

Many angry users that were effected by this update took to social networking sites such as Twitter to air their anger at the negative effect that iOS 6.1 had on their beloved iPhone 4S. The main issue that was being reported was that the update had a negative effect on the battery performance of the phone. Apple have not yet commented on whether the battery performance was one of the areas that was effected by the 6.1 update but it has become clear that indeed battery performance was dramatically affected by the update. Since Apple have released the new iOS 6.1.1 platform exclusively for the iPhone 4S the battery problem seems to have been resolved. According to posts on various sites as Twitter battery life now seems better than ever. Users can download this new software as an over the air download or via iTunes. Is Apple Planning To Launch A Cheaper iPhone Model?

Apple is well known for its iconic iPhone range.  It is one of the bestselling smartphone models ever to have hit the market.  There is always plenty of hype surrounding the launch of every new iPhone model as Apple only releases one iPhone at a time, and each one is a premium device.

However Gene Munster, a business analyst has stated in a note to Apple shareholders that the California based company may be planning to launch a more affordable iPhone model aimed solely at developing markets like China and India.  While the latest iPhone 5 model continues to sell very well and is still in very high demand, there are still millions if not billions of potential customers in emerging markets representing a great opportunity for Apple to launch a more affordable version.

In China, the Android OS accounts for over 90% of the smartphone market, thanks largely to the prevalence of cheaper devices with the operating system from all manner of manufacturer’s ranging from Samsung to Huawei.

Because Apple only offers high end smartphones with price tags to match, it is potentially missing out on a huge opportunity in emerging markets, so if Gene Munster’s prediction is correct, Apple could potentially sell a very high number of a more affordable iPhone variant.  It is unlikely that if Apple was to produce such a phone that it would be released in western markets like to United States and Europe. In order to keep production costs of the phone down, so the savings can be passed on to the consumer the features are likely to be less high tech some more up to date iPhone models.

Of course, Apple producing a cheaper iPhone model is purely speculation at this point as there has been no official word on the matter from the manufacturer.  Do you think Apple making a more affordable iPhone model is a good idea?  Leave a comment below to give us your thoughts.

Older iPhone Models Still Selling Well Despite iPhone 5 Launch

The Apple iPhone 5 is selling out almost as soon as Apple is able to deliver them to retailers.  In fact, if you order a new iPhone 5 today, the chances are you may have to wait a couple of weeks before it is in your hands.  The iPhone 5 famously sold all two million pre-order allocated units, before selling five million handsets over its first weekend on the market.

It was widely expected that the iPhone 5 would be popular and this has certainly proven to be the case.  However, logic would dictate that sales of previous iPhone models would slow down once a device was launched, but this appears not to be the case.  A number of networks have decided to lower the price of the Apple iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S handsets, catering to those who may find the iPhone 5 too pricey.

Verizon is one of the biggest mobile network operators in the U.S, and according to data recently released by the company, it is still selling plenty of older iPhone models. Verizon has said that in its third quarter of 2012, it sold 3.1 million iPhones which accounts for 46% of all smartphone activations across the network during this period.  650,000 of these were the new iPhone 5 model, so that means that around 2.5 million were older models of the Apple iPhone such as the iPhone 4 or last year’s iPhone 4S model.

There is good reason for these older models remaining popular, despite the new version being an appealing choice.  The iPhone 5 is a very expensive smartphone by anyone’s standards, so the new lower prices of the previous models are very appealing.  Furthermore, both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S support an update to iOS 6, which is the same version of Apple’s mobile operating system used by the iPhone 5.  Aside from being operated on a slightly smaller screen, it will have the exact same interface and be able to run the vast majority of apps that you can on the iPhone 5. Once supply chain issues for the iPhone 5 have been addressed, Apple is sure to have another bestseller on its hands, and may soon catch up to the sales figures achieved by the popular Samsung Galaxy S3.

Apple iPhone 4S A Winner At T3 Gadget Awards

The Apple iPhone 4S is still a popular device despite the launch of its successor, the iPhone 5. Apple’s previous flagship smartphone model has recently picked up the award for ‘work gadget of the year’ at the 2012 T3 Gadget Awards.

T3 is a popular gadget magazine with an annual awards ceremony with awards for gadgets in a number of different categories, the winners of which are voted by its readers. The Apple iPhone 4S was crowned ‘work gadget of the year’ largely on account of its versatility provided by third party apps, as well as the functionality and ease of use of the iOS ecosystem. The latest iPhone 5 model was released too late to be nominated for any categories.

While this is an impressive achievement for the iPhone 4S, a number of people disagreed with the decision. Given the calibre of competing devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note, it is understandable why some people have this opinion. Although the Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the most popular smartphones on the market, the iPhone 4S is among the most commonly used smartphones in the world, so is used by many people in the workplace. Because the handset so popular, is easy to see why so many votes were cast for the iPhone 4S.

Samsung won ‘phone of the year’ at the T3 Gadget Awards for its bestselling Galaxy S3. The South Korean manufacturer picked out the same award last year for its popular Galaxy S2 model. Visist our website for the latest iPhone 4S News.

It is not only mobile phones which are nominated for awards at the T3 Gadget Awards. Everything from TV’s to digital cameras to computers and music accessories all receive awards. Also, there are awards for design, innovation and applications etc. We are sure to see the iPhone 5 nominated in at least one category at next year’s T3 awards but of course by then competition will have become more impressive.

Apple’s Latest iOS Update Already Used By Millions

Alongside its latest iPhone model, Apple has recently launched the latest version of its iOS platform. Latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system sees over 200 new alterations to the previous version used for a number of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch models.

After the first full day of iOS 6 being available for download, around 15% of Apple devices in North America which run iOS had it installed. The update is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models, and of course the latest iPhone 5 version which comes with iOS 6 preinstalled. The new iPad and previous iPad 2 are also compatible with the software update as are fourth generation iPod touch devices.

Although many people have been very quick to take advantage of the new software update, a number of people have reportedly delayed downloading iOS 6 until issues with Apple’s new maps service have been addressed. Those who have downloaded iOS 6 will notice that Google Maps has disappeared, and been replaced with the new Apple Maps service. However, a number of problems with Apple Maps have been reported, but there is little doubt that Apple is already working on fixing these.

While we have the figures for iOS 6 downloads in North America, there is no data currently available for the rest of the world. Of course, Apple products are every bit as popular in Europe and Asia, so figures are likely to be similar. iOS 5, the previous version of the software took five days to hit the same 15% figure, so iOS 6 is already proving to be much more popular in the same timeframe. This number will of course increase though, as iOS 6 has only been available for couple of days.

The iPhone 4S And iPhone 5 – How Will They Compare?

The Apple iPhone 5 is due to be released at some point over the next few weeks. It promises to be one of the most exciting smartphone releases of the year, as every time a new version of the iPhone is released, we see a media frenzy and queues outside Apple stores around the world. In this article, I am going to look at some of the key features of the current model, the iPhone 4S and how the iPhone 5 is likely to compare with them.

Screen
The iPhone series has long been renowned for the quality of its touchscreens, and this is a particularly true of the iPhone 4S. This is particularly thanks to its retina display, which gets its name from the fact that the naked eye cannot distinguish between individual pixels on the screen. This is the result of the industry leading pixel density of 330 pixels per inch which is created by the resolution of 640x 960 being packed into the confines of the relatively compact 3.5 inch screen. The iPhone 5 is likely to also have this retina display technology, though it has been widely rumoured that this phone will be the first iPhone to sport a touchscreen which measures larger than the 3.5 inch display found on all previous iPhone models.

Processor
The Apple iPhone 4S is renowned for being one of the top performing smartphones on the market across many parts of its spec list. This is thanks to a 1GHz dual-core processor, which at the time of the handset’s release a very impressive attribute and made it one of the most powerful handsets on the market. We are likely to see a significant increase in processing power on the iPhone 5, as Apple will be keen to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X, both of which include quad-core processors. The iPhone 5 will possibly include a quad-core processor, or maybe a more powerful dual-core processor. Either way, we can expect top performance from the phone.

Camera
Some people have suggested that the resolution of the camera on the iPhone 5 will be a whopping 12 megapixels. If this is true, it will mean that the iPhone 5 will join only a couple of other handsets to boast this camera resolution. It seems more likely that it will have the same 8 megapixel resolution as the camera on the iPhone 4S. This is because even though the iPhone 4S has been available for nearly a year, it is still regarded as one of the best cameraphones on the market, and it looks like the results produced ones camera cannot be beaten.

The iPhone 5 is rumoured to be announced at some point over the next few weeks, with several sources suggesting the 12th of September.

Samsung Galaxy S3 And iPhone 4S – Key Features Compared

In this article, I am going to compare some key features are the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 4S. The latter is one of the main competitors to Samsung’s latest flagship Android smartphone, so after reading this article you can decide which one comes out on top.

One of the most important features for many people when choosing a new smartphone is the quality of the touchscreen, and this is a feature where both phones impress. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has one of the most advanced touchscreens to date from the Korean manufacturer. Measuring up at 4.8 inches and utilising super AMOLED HD capacitive touchscreen technology, it makes the ideal choice for multimedia use like playing games or watching movies. With a resolution of 720x 1280, it is able to display high definition content. The screen of the Apple iPhone 4S is renowned for its display quality, which is achieved partly through its smaller size. Measuring 3.5 inches, the screen is considerably smaller than that of the Samsung Galaxy S3, but because they pixel resolution of 640x 960 is packed into its confines, an industry leading pixel density of 330 pixels per inch is created, and as a result the naked eye cannot distinguish between individual pixels on the screen which is why the screen is also known as the retina display.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 4S are well equipped as cameraphones. This is a feature where both phones share a number of specifications in common. They both have an 8 megapixel resolution, and boast the ability to capture video footage a number of different resolutions of up to 1080p which is the highest resolution of high definition available on a mobile device. Both phones include all the usual image enhancing features that you would expect to find on any high end smartphone. These include auto and touch focus, face & smile detection, image stabilisation and an LED flash etc. Because both phones allows users to download apps from the AppStore (iPhone 4S) and Google Play Store (Samsung Galaxy S3), users can greatly enhance the functionality of the cameras by downloading appropriate apps.

One of the fundamental differences between these two phones is their operating systems. The Samsung Galaxy S3 utilises the latest version of the ever popular Android operating system (aka Ice Cream Sandwich). This works in conjunction with the Samsung TouchWiz user interface which is the manufacturer’s custom Android interface and offers an alternative look and feel to the interface along with numerous additional customisation options and access to Samsung’s multimedia download services. The iPhone 4S of course has iOS, which is well known and used by millions of people around the world. It is renowned for its ease of use while at the same time packing numerous powerful features, with a prime example being the Siri app.

As you can see, both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 4S are very well equipped smartphones. Choosing between them is likely to come purely down to personal preference for features such as brand, screen or operating system. Look out for my upcoming articles where I will compare more features of these impressive handsets.

Apple iPhone 4S And HTC One X – Comparing Key Attributes

In this article, I am going to compare some of the key features of the HTC One X and the Apple iPhone 4S. These are two of the most impressive and popular smartphones on the market, and after reading this article you will be able to decide which one comes out on top.

One of the most important features for many people when choosing their next smartphone is the quality of its touchscreen. Luckily, this is a feature where both of these phones impress. The HTC One X has a 4.7 inch screen which utilises Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen technology, and with a resolution of 720x 1280 it is able to display high definition content, making this a great phone for multimedia use like playing games or watching videos. The screen of the iPhone 4S differs to this significantly. It is much smaller at 3.5 inches, although this contributes to its display quality. This is because a resolution of 640x 960 creates an industry leading pixel density of 330 pixels per inch when packed into the small confines of the screen. As a result, the naked eye is unable to distinguish between individual pixels on the screen, which is why this is also known as the retina display.

The Apple iPhone 4S has a 1 GHz dual-core processor, which at the time of the handset’s release made it one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. Although many smartphones now have more powerful processors, the iPhone 4S still boasts outstanding performance, even by today’s standards. The HTC One X is one of the first smartphones to boast a quad-core processor. At 1.5 GHz, this makes it one of the most powerful smartphones currently on the market. There are several benefits to this additional processing power. These include a more responsive touchscreen, faster download speeds, faster web browsing speeds and much more efficient multitasking, plus much more.

One of the fundamental differences between the HTC One X and the iPhone 4S is the operating system. The iPhone 4S of course has iOS as its platform of choice, which is well known and used by millions of people as this is included on iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. It is well known for being extremely easy to use, and its simple interface combined with its powerful features means it ticks all the boxes; it is easy enough for a child to use, but boasts some of the most innovative features on the market. The HTC One X on the other hand utilises the latest version of the Android operating system, which is known as Ice Cream Sandwich. This works in conjunction with the HTC Sense user interface which provides an alternative aesthetic appearance along with additional customisation features to the stock Android interface.

The iPhone 4S and the HTC One X are clearly very well equipped smartphones. While they both impress for a number of reasons, they are also very different from one another as you can see. Choosing between them comes purely down to personal preference, but either way it is easy to see why both handsets are so popular.

Samsung Galaxy Note And iPhone 4S – How Do They Compare?

In this article, I am going to take a closer look at the ever popular Apple iPhone 4S and the unique Samsung Galaxy Note. While both of these handsets boast extensive spec list which include many impressive features, I am going to focus on their operating systems and touchscreen technology, as these are among the most important features for many people when choosing a new smartphone.

Of course, the Apple iPhone 4S has iOS as its software of choice. This is used by millions of people on iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices. It is well known for its user friendly interface for the simple layout. Of course, it also allows users to download applications using the AppStore, and has many well-known apps as standard including iTunes, iPod and Safari etc. The Samsung Galaxy Note on the other hand is one of the growing number of handsets to utilise the increasingly popular Android OS. It is supplied with the previous version known as Gingerbread as standard, although users can easily upgrade this to the latest version known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It works in conjunction with the Samsung TouchWiz UI which is Samsung’s custom Android interface. This offers an alternative aesthetic to the stock android interface along with further customisation options and widget functionality, a feature which iOS lacks.

One of the first differences between these phones that you will notice is in the size of their touchscreens. The 4.3 inches, the touchscreen of the Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the largest on the market. This utilises super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen technology which is similar to that found in Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S3. This provides excellent display quality in conjunction with its resolution of 800x and 1280. The device is supplied with a stylus pen called an S-Pen, which is specifically optimised for this device and stores in a hole at the top of the handset when not being used. The large size of the screen means that the Galaxy Note is equally at home being used for everything from watching movies or playing games, to editing spreadsheets or reading eBooks. The iPhone 4S has a much smaller screen at 3.5 inches, however this contributes significantly to its famous display quality. The screen of the iPhone 4S is also known as the retina display due to the fact that the naked eye cannot distinguish between individual pixels on screen. This is created by the resolution of 640x 960 being packed into the small dimensions of the screen, creating an industry leading pixel density of 330 pixels per inch.

As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy Note and the iPhone 4S impress in terms of their screens and operating systems. While they are both very different in these respects, they are equally impressive, and offer appeal to different types of user.
