The Motorola WX180 is essentially a mobile phone that provides simple and uncluttered functionality. Released in February 2010 this handset is compact in size at only 106 mm x 46 mm wide and at 14 mm thick is relatively slim line. The phone weighs 65 g in weight and as such is one of the lightest handsets available.

The handset provides a 1.5 inch CSTN display screen which is able to display up to 65,000 colours and their variants in an accurate and vibrant manner. The screen operates at a pixel screen size of 128 x 128 pixels.

The
Motorola WX180 provides a phone book, in which up to 100 entries can be retained, whilst the call records provides the means to review the last 10 dialled, received and missed call information. The unit provides vibration and ring alert options, with the ability to utilise polyphonic ringtones for that extra level of personalisation. In addition a handy speakerphone is provided, which when required is able to offer hands free communication.

The handset provides SMS capabilities as well as a mini USB port, for data transfer with a suitably attired device. In addition the handset provides an FM radio with RDS functionality, which provides the means to listen to a wide array of radio stations from around the country. For further entertainment, the handset provides a variety of games, which can be played whilst on the move.

The unit provides up to 400 hours of standby time, with up to 8 hours of talk time, which means that the unit does not require charging as often as most. In addition a useful calendar is provided as well as a voice memo facility, which means the owner is able to record vocal notes, as and when required and playback at a more convenient time and location.

The WX180 Motorola is unashamedly simple in every way. It offers basic functionality, and may well be utilised as a second handset or replacement mobile phone, although it is a suitable alternative to many of the high specification mobile phones available, but without the bells and whistles.
