Samsung Galaxy S3 And iPhone 4S – Key Features ComparedSep 3rd, 2012 | By phoneslimited | Category: Telecommunications
In this article, I am going to compare some key features are the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 4S. The latter is one of the main competitors to Samsung’s latest flagship Android smartphone, so after reading this article you can decide which one comes out on top.
One of the most important features for many people when choosing a new smartphone is the quality of the touchscreen, and this is a feature where both phones impress. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has one of the most advanced touchscreens to date from the Korean manufacturer. Measuring up at 4.8 inches and utilising super AMOLED HD capacitive touchscreen technology, it makes the ideal choice for multimedia use like playing games or watching movies. With a resolution of 720x 1280, it is able to display high definition content. The screen of the Apple iPhone 4S is renowned for its display quality, which is achieved partly through its smaller size. Measuring 3.5 inches, the screen is considerably smaller than that of the Samsung Galaxy S3, but because they pixel resolution of 640x 960 is packed into its confines, an industry leading pixel density of 330 pixels per inch is created, and as a result the naked eye cannot distinguish between individual pixels on the screen which is why the screen is also known as the retina display.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 4S are well equipped as cameraphones. This is a feature where both phones share a number of specifications in common. They both have an 8 megapixel resolution, and boast the ability to capture video footage a number of different resolutions of up to 1080p which is the highest resolution of high definition available on a mobile device. Both phones include all the usual image enhancing features that you would expect to find on any high end smartphone. These include auto and touch focus, face & smile detection, image stabilisation and an LED flash etc. Because both phones allows users to download apps from the AppStore (iPhone 4S) and Google Play Store (Samsung Galaxy S3), users can greatly enhance the functionality of the cameras by downloading appropriate apps.
One of the fundamental differences between these two phones is their operating systems. The Samsung Galaxy S3 utilises the latest version of the ever popular Android operating system (aka Ice Cream Sandwich). This works in conjunction with the Samsung TouchWiz user interface which is the manufacturer’s custom Android interface and offers an alternative look and feel to the interface along with numerous additional customisation options and access to Samsung’s multimedia download services. The iPhone 4S of course has iOS, which is well known and used by millions of people around the world. It is renowned for its ease of use while at the same time packing numerous powerful features, with a prime example being the Siri app.
As you can see, both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 4S are very well equipped smartphones. Choosing between them is likely to come purely down to personal preference for features such as brand, screen or operating system. Look out for my upcoming articles where I will compare more features of these impressive handsets.
