The HTC One X And Samsung Galaxy S3 – Android’s Finest ComparedSep 3rd, 2012 | By phoneslimited | Category: Telecommunications
Although it remains a popular choice, the Apple iPhone 4S now faces tougher competition than ever before. A number of rival manufacturers are now releasing ever impressive smartphones, with prime examples being the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. This article, I am going to compare some of their key features so you can decide which one is the best.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is without doubt one of the most exciting smartphone releases of 2012. Its spec list reads like a dream for technology enthusiasts. Key features include a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720x 1280, and a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor. The latter makes it one of the most powerful smartphones on the market in terms of processing power. It is also well equipped as a camera phone. It has an 8 megapixel digital camera which comes with all the usual image enhancing features you would expect to find on any high end smartphone along with an LED flash and full high definition video capture. The Galaxy S3 runs the latest version of the Android operating system in conjunction with the Samsung TouchWiz UI, which is the manufacturer’s custom Android interface. It has plenty of unique features, one of the most exciting of which is an app called S-Voice, which is comparable to Siri found on the iPhone 4S.
The HTC One X is another one of the top smartphones released this year. Like the Galaxy S3, many of its features are among the best out there. Its screen measures 4.7 inches and utilises Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen technology. This shares the same 720x 1280 pixel resolution as the Samsung Galaxy S3, meaning is able to display high definition content. The resolution of the camera is the same and it shares many features found on that of the Galaxy S3. It also has the Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ operating system, but this runs in conjunction with HTC’s custom Android interface which is the HTC Sense UI. This has similar benefits to TouchWiz, such as an alternative aesthetic appearance and additional customisation options to the stock Android interface, and it also allows access to HTC’s multimedia content download services.
As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X impress in terms of the features covered in this article, but of course there is much more to each handset. It is easy to see why both phones are proving so popular, and the iPhone 5, which is due for release later this year will certainly have its work cut out if it is to compete.
