The HTC Desire HD looks great in Black

The HTC Desire HD is an upgraded version of the HTC Desire, as the name suggests. The handset comes packed full of innovative and ingenious functionality, providing a mobile phone which quite simply offers all that is required or desired from a handset. The unit measures 123 mm x 68 mm wide whilst being 11 mm thick and weighing 164 g in weight and incorporates a 1 GHz a scorpion central processing unit, which is coupled with the android operating system, version 2.2, which is upgradable to version 2.3.

The handset comes with an array of connectivity which includes Wi Fi and HSDPA connectivity, offering the opportunity to access the net up to 14.4 Mbps. In addition the unit comes with a micro SD card slot which enables the user to increase available capacity of the unit from the 8 GB included up to a more substantial 32 GB. The unit also comes with micro USB, Bluetooth, GPRS and EDGE connections. The handset also comes with satellite navigation, which has the added benefit of A-GPS support.

The units display screen is 4.3 inches in size and is an LCD capacitive touch screen which comes with the added benefit of scratch resistant gorilla glass. The screen itself operates at 480 x 800 pixels, within which it is able to display up to 16 million colours ensuring outstanding quality imagery is displayed. In terms of navigation, the unit provides the HTC sense user interface, whilst also providing the added benefits of accelerometer and proximity sensors.

The unit comes with an 8.0 megapixel camera that comes with a raft of additional features including auto focus, face detection and a dual LED flash. The same camera can also be utilised to record video at 720 pixels. Additional entertainment options include Facebook and twitter applications as well as YouTube and Google talk integration, whilst an MP4/MP3 multimedia player is provided as standard in conjunction with a stereo FM radio with RDS and a variety of games.

The HTC Desire HD Black is an impressive unit which like the HTC desire offers a bountiful level of functionality combined with aesthetic appeal.
