The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a handset that offers virtually every conceivable function and feature that is currently available in a mobile phone. Its anticipated release is Q1 2010, with many waiting with bated breath for this impressively stylish and superior handset which contains some of the most advanced technology available.

The basis, by which the functionality performs, is down to the use of a Qualcomm QSD8250 snapdragon 1 GHz processor as well as the Android operating system, which is version 1.6. These two elements offer extremely fast processing capacity and a stable operating system that ensures that the functionality and features enclosed therein can flourish.

One of the central elements of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is its 4.0 inch TFT capacitive touch screen which is supremely colourful due to its 65,000 colour display capabilities. The inclusion of a scratch resistant surface ensures that the display screen stays vivid and clear whilst the included accelerometer sensor automatically rotates imagery between landscape and portrait mode. As its primary means of navigation around the functionality the handset makes use of the Timescape/Mediascape user interface.

The 8.0 megapixel camera which is included within the package, offers excellent photo taking and video taking capabilities as well as ensuring quality of image by including auto focus, touch focus, face, smile detection and image stabilisation. For illumination purposes the camera also offers an LED flash as well as geo-tagging functionality. For those who prefer the alternative of video capture, the camera doubles up as a WVGA quality video device which records at 30 frames per second whilst the inclusion of a secondary camera is a welcome addition.

The phone offers 1 GB of internal memory as well as an 8 GB SD card which is used within the microSD card slot. For further expansion of the memory capacity, the aforementioned card slot can be utilised and offers the ability to increase memory up to 16 GB. Connectivity comes in the form of GPRS and EDGE, both of which are class 10 whilst internet access is provided by the HSDPA as well as the Wi Fi connection. Internet access is offered at speeds of up to 10.2 Mbps. The inclusion of microUSB and Bluetooth completes the connectivity options. The handset comes with GPS functionality which offers satellite navigation as standard.
